Win11 Upgrade Advice please!
I have a Dell Inspiron 23 Model 5348 01 which I bought some while ago with an earlier version of Windows but it came with a guaranteed upgrade to Win10.
I made this upgrade successfully once Win10 became available. When Win11 was announced I used a tool from Microsoft to ascertain if my hardware was suitable for this version. The test was unsuccessful. I am now being prompted by Microsoft to upgrade the computer to Win11. I'm confused, will it work on this machine which has previously failed the hardware test? Is there any advantage in upgrading? Will I lose any functionality if I upgrade? Will I need to upgrade the other software installed to make it work on Win11? Any other thoughts on the advisability or otherwise on attempting this upgrade? Any advice from those who've done the upgrade appreciated, thanks. |

Ned,
Unless you were wanting to upgrade to a newer computer. Just stick with windows 10. I have an old mini-tower {2007}, and it to will not work with Win 11. Because of its motherboard doesn't have TPM chips. Quote:
– that needs to be turned on in the BIOS – So, that Windows 11 can use it. |

{sorry, having a problem with the editor for some reason.}
Well, Get in to the BIO's and see if you have TPM on this Dell Inspiron 23. If you do, enable it. Then go back and do the Windows 11 upgrade test again. Then hopefully it will pass the test. Even if you don't have TPM, Windows 10 will still be supported for several more years. Signed: Ensign Tzap |

Thank very much for that, I'm sticking with Win10, I guess I'll have to go with Win11 when I replace the PC but it's going fine at the moment.
