Web Site Re-Design

Hi all, I'm getting ready to re-design my girlfriends web site, Unik Hand Crafted Wood Puzzles, any thoughts, comments or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Joost

Firstly, the <marquee> tag doesn't work on Netscape

If you're doing a complete redesign, you might look into the use of includes, so that you can store the navigation stuff in an external file so that when you add a new section you only have to update the external file and every page will 'inherit' the changes.

I have a guide to doing this on my site

BTW that isn't a shameless plug for my site, I'm linking to it for information, I genuinely think it may help here

The slight use of the DHTML is nice. Good job not overdoing it like is so often done.

My one thing as I surfed the sight was how bad navigation was at times. Click the order form and the only way back to the site was with my browser back button (well, there may have been another way I didn't look real hard). Then on the Puzzles page my only choice was "Home". I would suggest using the same navigation on every page throughout the site so users aren't readjusting with every page. On the order form why not have it open in a new window for printing?

I saw no marquee for reasons Steven mentioned.

The includes I mentioned are the easiest way of including the navigation on each page

If you want to use a marquee, go to http://javascript.internet.com/scrolls/ and you'll find some JavaScript that should work cross browser.

Jim, those photos of her working the saw without gloves on? Better hope OSHA doesn't find out!

Believe it or not, those blades will not cut you. I have used that saw, and still have all of my fingers.
