McAfee

i almost installed that recently and when it said id id have to unistall NAV and AVG i said no and ever since right after a reboot/log off and log back in any account it says set up cannot complete and its missing file ....... , dunno what to do can some1 help me plz

Go here and download the latest version of Hijack This and run a scan. Most of the files listed will be harmless and/or required so do not make any changes, just click on Save Log, copy it and post it back in this thread.

Should be able to KC. Make sure that there is no entry for McAfee in Add/remove Programs in Control Panel first though.

If not, run Hijack This again, select the below entry and click on Fix selected.

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [mcappins.exe] C:\Program Files\McAfee.com\Shared\mcappins.exe vsocfg.ini

When you have done this, boot into Safe Mode and delete the below folder (in bold).

C:\Program Files\McAfee.com

Now boot back into Windows. Are you still getting that message?

can u tell me how to boot into safe mode cause people has told me to do that in a few terms but i never knew or know no how to and how to navigate in that

That's good news KC and you are very welcome. If you need to boot into Safe Mode again, all you need do is to restart your PC and tap F8 as it restarts.
