No Internet access

Hi!

This is troublesome. On my Windows XP laptop I upgraded my Comodo firewall installation. Afterwards I had no Internet access. So I uninstalled Comodo. After reboot I still hadn't any internet access.

So, now, without any firewall installed, I have no internet access.

I have wlan. The wlan icon in the bottom bar says the internet access is enabled and active. So, the computer has contact with the wlan modem.

I have no idea what to do to solve this. Some assistance would be very appreciated.

Hi Thort. Have you tried running System Restore and restoring to a date before you upgraded Comodo?

This is maybe due to Virus and Spywares.

Follow these steps to solve it:
1. First of all download the WinsockFix Utility from the following link:
http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/N...nSockFix.shtml

2. Run it and click fix.

3. restart the computer

4. go to Control Panel -> network connections -> right click the lan connection and click properties

5. In the general tab double click on "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)" from the list.

6. re-enter the details as necessary.

I hope this will solve your problem.

Thanks AnnMarie and JeffHarris!

I do appreciate your help.

But, I'm sorry. I was a bit impatient. I know, it's not right, but I posted the same question at Tech Support Guy.

There I got a solution. This one:

Click Start > Run > type CMD

In the Command Prompt, type in the bold text, one command after the other, pressing Enter between each one of them:

Reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults: netsh winsock reset catalog

Reset TCP/IP stack to installation defaults: netsh int ip reset reset.log

Reboot the computer.
