open destination file command doesn't work
Hi, I have Vista Home Premium 32-bit with Intel Pentium Dual Core T2390. I'm sorry, I worded it wrong in the title - it should be "open file location" command.
For some time the "open file location" command doesn't work. I followed the steps with the same problem posted on this forum a while ago, link below. http://www.cybertechhelp.com/forums/...d.php?t=211789 The first part (shell menu handler)went the same way (correct), however in the second part the result was: the system didn't find such key or value in the registry. Could someone tell me what should be the next step? BTW, I'm not using IE, also it is embedded in my system and I'm not sure if I can completely uninstall it, because (unfortunately) some apps relay on it for updates. All help would be appreciated. Thank you. Last edited by John111; January 5th, 2011 at 11:50 AM. Reason: Wrong wording |

Hi John and welcome. If you are referring to the .bat file that Mosaic1 asked telanor to run, please post your results here. If not, please provide more detail.

not going to post it. The 2nd is different, but you'll have to rely on my translation, since my native language is not English (and so is the result). The WOWresult.txt Bť¤D: System nie znalaz w rejestrze okrelonego klucza albo wartoci. TRANSLATION: The system didn't find such key or value in the registry. |

Thank you for the help, but I think the problem is caused by IE9 Beta that I
unfortunately downloaded. Also, your proposed solution fixes the symptoms rather than the causes and that in not exactly elegant way. I think, I'll pass. |

How odd. I thought you had followed the steps in the link you referred to in your first post? IE9 beta was clearly identified as the cause of that particular issue.
