Intel Core 2 Duo

Hi,
Would Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4GHz Socket processor
be a multiple core CPU or dual processor cpu?
And would Windows Xp pro support this?

Hi there,

I'll try to explain as simply as I can, please don't take offence.

Core 2, as the name implies, has two cores (in the one CPU). This enables two software threads to be processed in its own execution core.

A dual processor is two seperate CPU's (as in a dual Xeon or Opteron system).

XP will run fine on a Core 2 Duo.

Cheers.
