Intel Celeron D processors..

Hi, i know that celeron D processors are supposed to be made with lower quality parts and i know that by the end of next year Intel is supposedly improving their quality of celeron D's and will also make them faster. so my question is Which would be a faster processor.. an Intel P4 2.93Ghz (just giving out a random processor speed which is close enough to 3.0)or a Celeron D 3.2 Ghz processor? I am guessing the P4? because of the chip difference?

With Intel re-doing the Celeron D's, how much faster do you really think it would be and will the prices drop dramatically?

hi
hmmm
one used to say, celerons are not with lower quality parts, they just have fewer parts.

an that is not true any more either
the newest celeron perform better than older models of the P IV (ghz for Ghz...)
there are various models of (for instance) a PIV 3000

same thing with AMD.
you really need to look up specifics before you buy a CPU... and never forget that the motherboard plays a BIG role in performance.
