Moving files/downloads from XP to Win 7

I'm preparing to retire my OptiPlex 960 with XP Pro (32-bit), and move on to the OptiPlex 7010 having Win 7 Pro (64-bit). I have a few files/folders and downloads I'd like to bring over to the Win 7 OS. I've never been able to get CD/DVD burning to work on XP, so that is not a choice. I have been able to transfer some things to flashdrive, so that is a possibility. Any other options?

Wait a minute, aren't you the guy who pays $100 a month? Is this something else that he can't help you with? Have you fired him? Have you missed a monthly payment to him? Please do tell, we'd really like too know.

Hi Trimis, have you tried networking your old computer with your new computer?

For some help on how to do that take a look at this video, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RYYe_Y-99fU

It's written for windows 10, but the principal is the same for whatever operating system you have, however some of the buttons you need to click are in different places, search for the location if you are not sure.

Once you have mapped the drive of one computer onto the other, you can just drag the files you want across.

Have fun.

Hey Lufbra, I can't wait to hear what happened to his $100 a month tech support guy. My guess is that it was all part of Trimis's imagination.
