NTLDR MISSING After formatting
I have 2 Maxtor HD's and on one of them, I put on XP Media (that was a mistake)...i tried reinstalling XP Pro, but that didn't work, so I formatted the other drive, and tried to install xp on that one but got a missing NTLDR hit any key to restart, or you have a disk in the floppy, well I don't have a floppy so I hit the space bar and it did the same thing...I was hopeing that some one would trll me were I went wrong, and how I can get either HD to let me install SP Pro...TIA

HDD Help ! ! !
What info. is on a new hard drive, I formatted a maxtor (diamondmax), and tried to install XP Pro, but got an error message, that ntldr was missing, or there was a disk in the floppy....I don't have a floppy, and made sure that the HDD was the first boot-up in bios...tia

Howdy:
When you booted the system with the XP cd, did you get the small message along the bottom of your screen that says something like "Press a key to boot from cd" ?? It also appears you have taken to multiple posting a problem that is already being addressed.. Due to that I will be merging them.. Murray |
