Upgrading Windows 98 to Windows 98SE
I have a HP Pavilion 6340 with Windows 98,5.59gb hard drive and a Intel Celeron.
I am trying to upgrade to Windows 98se so I can use Netgear to get on line but when I put in the Boot Disk I created at Boot Disk.com I get the message m:\boot 98se.exe is not a valid win32 application. I would any imput as to what I am doing wrong. |

![]() Which boot disk did you download? How did you create it. What process are you going through to boot from it. Also, the Win98 SE CD should be bootable. |

I downloaded Windows 98se OEM/Alt 1 from Bootdisk.com
Using Easy Creator CD program I copied it on to a CD in Data format and then put into my HP Pavilion and clicked Open and got the message I reffered to. I was told I could use the 98se boot disk as I do not have any disks for 98 or 98se and need to upgrade inorder to install Netgear. |

If you want to upgrade to Win98 SE then you will need the Win98 SE CD.
