Question Too many files and directories

I bought a used computer, Dell Dim2400, yesterday. I have Norton Anti-virus, installed it and ran a full system scan. It scanned OVER 500,000 items. I uninstalled a lot of programs not needed and a lot of personal files left behind. Anyone know where to find all this stuff?

personal files is just that personal files, they could be anywhere on the computer. There is no way for us to tell where they are. You can do searches for specific documents and graphics extensions depending what software is installled.

IMO, it is best to reformat and reinstall the os.

I cannot understand you completely but ever after removing many programs you are finding difficulty then you should use some registry cleaner.
