How to tell ATI cards?
How do you tell the difference between the radeon card number?
I know for Nvidia its the second number like 8800 that matters, but thats for Nvidia. How do you tell for Radeon? Its not that im really considering going to ATI, but around where i live ive tried every store, and cannot find any decent cards besides 9600GT's and im not sure if my PSU with handle it, only 305Watts over here, its a Dell E521, so im not exactly to sure what i have on the PSU as far as amps. And they have a lot of ATI cards available but not sure which ones are good and which ones are bad. Thanks. Last edited by Ed Williams; January 4th, 2009 at 02:47 AM. |

Look up GPU comparison charts. Model numbers don't mean jack.

they do to a point, a 3850 is less powerful than 3870, they both use the same gpu, however clock and memory speeds are faster on the 3870.
