Pop ups like crazy!

My husbands computer (exact same system I have) has all of a sudden gotten pop up's like crazy! Can you recommend a good free program we can download to get rid of the pop ups? One time you recommended "spybot" to me and I love it. But not sure it's applicable here. What do you recommend?

There's a few pop up blockers out there. I for one uses the combo of Proxomitron and Adshield. But there are others. Got to http://www.webattack.com and you will find a few there. Just type Pop Up blocker in the search and bam you get a bunch of them. HTH

"all of a sudden (getting) pop up's like crazy" sounds like it could be more than just the usual popups ...hopefully it's not..have you scanned w/ Spybot? .....after making sure it's updated w/ the most recent update...(May 26)?

Hi..Dave

I wouls do a full scan with Ad-Aware and spybot S&D (update of course). There might be something that Spybot S&D might have missed.

Hi TraGreg - if you are still plagued with popups after running Spybot, go here and download and run a scan with Hijack This. Dont make any changes, just click on Save Log, copy it and post it back in this thread.

No, definitley not the usual popups. It's so bad he can't do anything once connected online so many come up. He d/l free surfer and it did absolutely nothing. We'll try spybot and I'll report back the results, thank you all for not giving up on me!
