Question Upgrade To Windows Vista

Hi,

I'm using Xp and was wondering could i use the recovery cd (Windows Vista installer) for a Fujitsu Siemens to upgrade my Xp Dell (Windows Vista Capable) to Windows vista?

And would you recommend the upgrade to vista?

Thank you

Howdy:

No as that would be illegal and, odds are, may not even work as the Vista cd would be looking for hardware that is non-existant on your Dell.

You will need to purchase your own retail Vista upgrade cd.

As for should you, that ism hard to say as you never posted your system specs.

As already stated by Murray, check out the Vista Upgrade Advisory to determine if your hardware is even ready to give VISTA a try - good luck!

The cd you want to use is OEM and is married to the system it came with. Even if you throw that system away, it would still be illegal to use it.

You MUST buy a new cd.
