Wont Read CDs
hey
i have a pioneer dvr 109 and recently its been having trouble - well, doesnt read cds at all. the cds goes in and it makes loud whirring sounds, and the computer doesnt recognize that the disc is there at all. on the rare occasion, it might detect it, and ask what i want to do with a blank disc, but when ive made a disc and hit burn, it just fails pretty much instantly. does anyone know how i can fix this?

1. Update to the latest firmware
2. Use a lens cleaning cd to clean the laser lens 3. Make sure the ASPI layer is updated and of the correct version. If all that fails it may be that the laser is out of alignment. This happens when the plastic parts inside warp over time due to the heat of the unit.
