Dvd-rw and cd-rw wont read dvd's
hi,
i have a compaq hp pavilon zv5000 and recently my dvd drive has not being reading dvd's.I encountered a problem so i clean installed the xp a while ago,before hand i backed up my music on a dvd.This dvd can be read in my other computer but not in my laptop.Any suggestions ?

i thaught i best expand on my problem..
my laptop has a dvd drive and it worked...i reinstalled xp and now on my computer it still says dvd-rw drive.But when you put a dvd in it says cd drive and doesnt read the dvd.But it does read cd's.Any suggestions on how to fix this.?
