Maybe bad discs, or even poor burner. Maybe your computer can't handle this kind of action. Buying the original music cds, save you this kind of trouble.

Talking

I am having, by the sounds of it, this exact same problem, admittedly i didn't see this before i posted mine. I haven't tried CD's yet, but it is mucking up the first 20% of my disks!!

Freespit, have you tried inserting one of thus said CD's and scanning it with Scan Disk (which is built into nero, if you have it) and see what that comes up with.

Also, i don't like the assumption you make here Little Wing, because it sounds to me like you are accusing him of burning illegal copied CD's

There has been no mention of piracy in freespit's posts. No need for any discussions of illegal activity here.

well, to clear things up, they are not illegal music CDs. i buy the CDs, upload it into my computer as mp3s and then burn an mp3 CD. my burner is a samsung, and it's been working properly for two years.. and now it's like there are problems..!! it's so annoying, is there like a cleaning thing that i can do? you know, like how you have to clean VHS players and with a VHS.. haha okay it's not the same but yeah.. but i'll try that thing in nero the next time i wanna burn a CD.. actually i have an empty CD-R now.. let me try it and see what happens. thanks..

Little Wing, I had asked for piracy discussions to cease. Your not offering solutions you keep repeating yourself.

Explain what you mean by "shoe fits"
Explain where you got the idea there is piracy involved.

Let me be clear here, any more accusations towards freespit being involved in
piracy will get that member a small vacation.

I would suggest these are your options in this order:

1) Try saving the MP3 to the hard drive first and playing it through a media player. If it doesn't play right, then your burner isn't the problem. If it does, then do the following:

2) Try burning at half the speed.

3) Try a different brand of cd.

4) Try a different burning program.

5) Uninstall the burner from Device Manager and reboot to reinstall the driver.

Other than that, the burner's laser lens may need to be cleaned, or the the burner has gone belly up.

Burn CD's that don't work are excellent table coasters..

I would do as suggested and try to slow the burn speed down, and also be sure that you aren't hogging the processor while burning.. not knowing what kind of PC you have, it could help to let it run without doing anything during the process.

What burning software are you using and what version ? .... as early versions of Nero 7 were known to cause problems with audio skipping etc.

Failing that ... as Seth said it could be a bad batch of disks .... have you tried a disk from another batch ?
