I apologise. I did post a HJT log, but only because even with the understanding that people live in different time zones, I need an answer as quick as possible, and I was unsure if my problem is windows or cyber safety related

It amazes me even with this thread,they still post them here sometimes....

Egg on my face too. I just posted a question about running processes and I thought that this was the place to park my inquiry - it doesn't fall under a security issue and I would think that my question is more relevent to this XP specific forum. It stands to reason that a HJT log would be a necessary piece of information for the support person to consider, so if it isn't allowed to be posted here then...????
Yes, I am a newbie (a necessary point in the transition of going from ignorant to educated)
