25 Worst Tech Products of All Time.

Fun to look over this list from PC World.
You may not agree with every one but the #1 worst tech product did not surprise me: AOL.

Oh yes that's charming. Once again AOL is the ingrown hair on everyone's bwt.

Personally I don't have a problem with AOL's service.

I do however have a problem with their customer service. Frankly it sucks!

I hear ya. AOL has to satisfy a lot of people to stay in business as long as it has. But being in the tech field for so many years, I compare AOL with Norton Utilities. May work flawlessly for a couple people and be total disasters for 20 more people. I can't begin to tell you of the number of systems I worked on to get AOL/Norton to work right or completely eliminate them. More times than not, performed the latter as the former just wouldn't cut it.
Why AOL Sucks.
If it works for you, I'm happy for you.

I MUST be one of the lucky few that since switching to XP has had so few problems with AOL that I can't remember. My connection is fast and very stable. A little overpriced as well but there is no download limit which I do a lot of .

Their customer service has to be some of the worst I've ever experienced. It is literally like talking to the wall ( or black mirror if it comes to that ).

Personally I would have McAfee at the top.

Yeah, my link above talks about "if you need AOL customer service, or "TECH SUPPORT", you are calling someone who has their donkey tied up outside, in India."

I used Mcafee and was a firm supporter and helper for many years. But then they just seemed to grow out of their minds. More is not always better. Mcafee bloated to beyond reasonable expectations. I trust my free AVG to keep my system safe and not cause problems. Hasn't let me down yet.

Windows Me has been sarcastically referred to as "Moron Edition," "Mistake Edition," "Miserable Edition," "Many Errors," or "Memory Eater" (due to perceived problems with memory leaks).
Justifiably in worst category.

1-5 & 10 were the absolute pits. I particularly remember one lad deciding to get to grips with db IV one nightshift. It really is pityful to see a grown man cry.

He now runs a motel in Arizona, so it put him off IT for life.
