PC wont wake up from sleep

Hi
I have upgraded to windows 8 but one of the problems I have is that when I order the PC to sleep, it sleeps like an angel, but when I press wake-up, it will not wake-up, it will restart and then this message appears that an error occurred and the usual Send and Don't Send buttons are there, any suggestions why?
Thanks

1. Press the "Windows key" + "W" key on the keyboard
2. In the search box type Troubleshooting hit <enter>
3. Click on System and Security and click on Power click on next to run the troubleshooter

Does not resolve then:

1. Move the mouse to bottom left corner and right-click on the ‘Start icon’.
2. Select ‘device manager’.
3. Expand ‘Display adapter’ and right-click on ‘display adapter’ and select ‘uninstall’.
4. Download and install the display drivers for Windows 8 from the manufacturer’s website if it is available and check if that helps.

Does not resolve then:

Change the Power Plans setting

unfortunatelly, there is no driver available for windows 8, i have mobile intel serier 4 chipset and i download its driver for windows 7 from the intel website, but still the same problem. is there somebody else than intel who might develop the windows 8 driver, like microsoft for example?
Thanks

did you try going to the computers manufacturer, do a search for your specific computer model and download the win8 drivers from there?

usually if the computer manufacturer do not have drivers for a specific computer, then it is usually best not to upgrade.

unfortunately it could be a driver problem, and most likely your video driver.

You may want to try the Windows 7 driver, as when you upgraded to Windows 8 it may of installed one from the DVD itself.

You will need to download either the 32bit or 64 bit depending on which one you have.

Also when you ran sfc /scanow, did you disable your anti-virus?

You can try it, no it will not harm the computer, worse case is it will come up on tell you it won't work. If it does install and it really doesn't work you can roll back to the previous driver. If for some reason you install and when it boots you get no picture, then you can reboot get into BIOS SETUP and reset to defaults.

To roll back a driver;
  1. Open Device Manager
  2. Locate and double-click the hardware device whose driver you need to rollback
  3. In the properties dialog box, click the Roll Back Driver button
  4. Click Yes when you are asked, “Are you sure you would like to roll back to the previously installed driver software?”
  5. Restart Windows after the previously installed driver is reinstalled
