Adobe Flash keeps crashing

Adobe Flash keeps crapping out on me, stopping youtubes and a bunch of other things. It happens on all browsers, but is especially problematic with Firefox 16 on my Windows 7 and Windows Vista computers.

What's the deal with Adobe Flash, which is about as important as any other software to me? How do I prevent it? Should I uninstall and reinstall?

Thanks.
