bsod Windows 7

Big problem here and I have tried alot. Last week I got a bsod after what i believe was a virus i got. I can't open any safe mode. I have downloaded anitvirus from a cd to boot with and that took care of one problem but not I keep getting this error 0x0000007B (0xfffff880009a9928,0xffffffffc000000d, 0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000). Here is what I have done so far tried to open safe mode doesn't work, tried to system restore, recovery from Windows 7 installed disc didnt work, tried fixmbr from disc did not work. I feel like I am running out of options. I know that I can reinstall windows but I don't want to unless I have too. Is there anything else I can do?? I have tried just about everything I can think of.

Could be a faulty hard drive -- test it with the bootable CD version of "Seagate SeaTools for DOS" from here: http://www.seagate.com/www/en-us/sup...oads/seatools/

Make sure you download the DOS version (it's an ISO CD-Image), since the Windows version will be no good if Windows won't start.

Burn the ISO image to a CD-R using burning software like Nero which knows how to burn an ISO file. You can't simply 'copy' the ISO file to CD like you do with other files.

Boot your PC from that CD and the testing program will appear automatically. Select the drive for testing, then choose the 'Long Test' from the menu.

If the drive 'Fails' it will have to be replaced.

Welcome to CTH

Since you did not list any specs, "Seagate SeaTools for DOS" , pobably will not work unless you have a Seagate Hard Drive. That stop error can be caused by various problems.

The most popular is the stop error 0x0000007B generally the "Inaccessible Boot Device" error. This stop code is generally caused by a device driver issue.

After the stop code does it list a device? or reason?

DST completed without error after I ran seagate.

A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:
Check for viruses on your computer. Remove any newly installed hard drives or hard drive controllers. Check your hard drive to make sure it is properly configured and terminated. Run CHKDSK /F to check for hard drive corruption, and then restart your computer.
Technical information:
*** STOP: 0x0000007B (0xFFFFF880009A9928,0xFFFFFFFFC000000D,0X000000000 0000000,0x0000000000000000)

You haven't mentioned any antivirus programs, the site I gave you mentioned to run a scan to check the drive. If you have a friend with a computer, try to plug it into his as an additional drive and have him run a scan on it, if it comes up negative, you can then put it back in yours; try to put your original Windows disk in and after setting up in the BIOS to boot from your DVD drive, boot into the windows disk and when it asks you if you want to repair your installation say yes and it will run what looks like an install but it will check the files and replace any corrupt files and that might work. If it does, go right to Microsoft updates and check for the latest updates as yours will probably have been removed. If you check in their updates site, there is a place where they can check for updated drivers as well, but it won't be under the most serious updates section. Sorry, I didn't see that remark about running am antivirus program.
