Dell Optiplex help please
Hi all, i wonder if anyone can help me.
I have just purchased a lovely little "Dell Optiplex GX260" complete with windows xp pro sp2. Problem is, i cannot get it to boot properly. The cd drive is not listed in the bios, so i downloaded a set of 6 disks from microsoft which allegedly let me boot up, but the boot hangs on disc 2 with an "ntkrnlmp.exe" not found "error 7" code. Has anyone got any ideas or know of another non windows boot disc that might get the cd drive up and running so i can install xp? Cheers ian |

Your CD drive may not be listed in BIOS. Find in there where you set the boot sequence and set the CDROM as the 1st boot device. Now SAVE & EXIT, it should now boot from the CDROM (have the XP CD in). The screen should come up and ask if you want to boot from the CD....
