Angry Seeking Help

I have Win XP Professional, SP1, 512 meg ram, nviada FX 5500 256 ram. I have been trying to figure out why when I go into Spybot to Search and Destroy, it freezes up.....then I go into the Sims 2 Nightlife, and it freezes up before going into a town, and tonight while connected with another computer thru a home lan, I was trying to play Empire Earth, Art of Conquest, I get to the Stone Age and it freezes up.

I have the latest DirectX 9.0c, I have scanned for virus and have none, I have used Asquared 2, Ad-Adware, and Ewido and gotten rid of everything....

What else can I check for? It is getting really boring not able to play any games with my spouse.....

Hi there
Can you Creat a Hijack This log.
Here is the Link for HiJackThis.
Post the log in Cyber Safety Forum and let the pros in there take a look at it for you.

Also lets head out and get Service Pack 2 for your copy of XP. They cleared a lot of issues in SP/2

I had service pack 2 and all it did was make it impossible for me to connect to my other 2 computers to play games with my spouse. Have they fixed that problem yet???? He could read my directory but I could not.

I will get Hijack This and send the information.

Ok have you updated the drivers for that card?
And in my Signature there is a Link called PcPit. Run that and see what it will tell ya about your machine. You will need an Email account to use it.
And could you please Run Everest
And post back with log.
We Gotta get to the bottom of this. No one should be denied their ability to Game!!!!

I went to the link and ran PCPit Optimize and it says this:

Computer has 94 unnecessary (junk) files that take up 23,304 kb of space.
Your computer is not optimized for high-speed connection.
Your computer has 14 registry errors.
Your computer has 3 registry keys that can be adjusted to give your system a performance boost.

but I cannot pay for a program to fix these problems....

Run a memory test. It's available here.

Probably a good idea to run hard drive error checking as well. Go to the properties of your "c" drive and click on Tools. When you select error checking, put a check in both options that appear.

If you still have the problem, then check your Event Viewer my right clicking on My Computer>Manage>Event Viewer. Post back with the consistant errors that it shows under the "System" heading.

Forget about PCPit. It finds alot of stuff in an attempt to goad you into buying this software. There's plenty of excellent free utilities available on the internet for what it does.

For event viewer all your looking for is errors, not warnings, logged in at the same time your having the problem.
Run the MS memory diagnostic tool and see what happens.
