Problems amongst Problems adware/spyware and virus

thank you in advance for your help, your knowledge of these things and how to "cure" the problem is just awesome.

a list of some things that have been found on my system
> bloodhound.w32
> security2k hijacker
> trojan-downloader-zlob
> psguard components

i downloaded Webroot SpySweeper and it found the last 3 on the list on my system but will not delete them, or fix the issue(s) unless i buy the program. unfortunately i am unable to do so. Also there is a program of somesort operating in my startup tray that i have never installed or even much seen before called "Virus Alert!" that annoyingly pops up this Critical Message everytime the wind blows. but i have never seen this program, nor does an UNINSTALL show up in my control panel>add/remove , as a matter of fact i cant even locate a folder for the program anywhere on my system. Please help with this issue. prior to joining this site, i read a few other posts and i noticed that one individual had problems with this Virus Alert! and the folk who posted back said it was something to do with SPYFALCON, however i dont have spy falcon. Can someone please help me with these issues, it would be greatly appreciated.

(it may be helpfull to you, so here is a posting of my highjack this log)

Hi roc slaughter,

Please print out or copy these instructions/tutorial to Notepad as the internet will not be (while in Safe Mode) available to you at certain points of the removal process. Make sure to work through all the Steps in the exact order in which they are listed below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before moving on with the fixes.

Reboot your computer in Safe Mode.
  • If the computer is running, shut down Windows, and then turn off the power.
  • Wait 30 seconds, and then turn the computer on.
  • Start tapping the F8 key. The Windows Advanced Options Menu appears. If you begin tapping the F8 key too soon, some computers display a "keyboard error" message. To resolve this, restart the computer and try again.
  • Ensure that the Safe Mode option is selected.
  • Press Enter. The computer then begins to start in Safe mode.
  • Login on your usual account.
______________________________

Open the SmitfraudFix Folder, then double-click smitfraudfix.cmd file to start the tool.
Select option #2 - Clean by typing 2 and press Enter.
Wait for the tool to complete and disk cleanup to finish.
You will be prompted : "Registry cleaning - Do you want to clean the registry ?" answer Yes by typing Y and hit Enter.
The tool will also check if wininet.dll is infected. If a clean version is found, you will be prompted to replace wininet.dll. Answer Yes to the question "Replace infected file ?" by typing Y and hit Enter.

A reboot may be needed to finish the cleaning process, if you computer does not restart automatically please do it yourself manually. Reboot in Safe Mode.

The tool will create a log named rapport.txt in the root of your drive, eg: Local Disk C: or partition where your operating system is installed. Please post that log along with all others requested in your next reply.
______________________________

Clean out your Temporary Internet files. Proceed like this:
  • Quit Internet Explorer and quit any instances of Windows Explorer.
  • Click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click Internet Options.
  • On the General tab, click Delete Files under Temporary Internet Files.
  • In the Delete Files dialog box, tick the Delete all offline content check box , and then click OK.
  • On the General tab, click Delete Cookies under Temporary Internet Files, and then click OK.
  • Click on the Programs tab then click the Reset Web Settings button. Click Apply then OK.
  • Click OK.
Next Click Start, click Control Panel and then double-click Display. Click on the Desktop tab, then click the Customize Desktop button. Click on the Web tab. Under Web Pages you should see a checked entry called Security info or something similar. If it is there, select that entry and click the Delete button. Click Ok then Apply and Ok.

Empty the Recycle Bin by right-clicking the Recycle Bin icon on your Desktop, and then clicking Empty Recycle Bin.
______________________________

Close ALL open Windows / Programs / Folders. Please start Ewido, and run a full scan.
  • Click on Scanner
  • Click on Settings
    • Under How to scan all boxes should be checked
    • Under Unwanted Software all boxes should be checked
    • Under What to scan select Scan every file
    • Click on Ok
  • Click on Complete System Scan to start the scan process.
  • Let the program scan the machine.
If Ewido finds anything, it will pop up a notification. When it asks if you want to clean the first file, put a checkmark in the lower left corner of the box that says Perform action on all infections and put a checkmark in the box next to Create encrypted backup, then choose clean and click Ok.

Once the scan has completed, there will be a button located on the bottom of the screen named Save Report.
  • Click Save Report button
  • Save the report to your Desktop
Close Ewido and Reboot in Normal Mode.
______________________________

Open the SmitfraudFix folder and double-click smitfraudfix.cmd
Select option #3 - Delete Trusted zone by typing 3 and press Enter

Note, if you use SpywareBlaster and/or IE-SPYAD, it will be necessary to re-install the protection both afford. For SpywareBlaster, run the program and re-protect all items. For IE-SPYAD, run the batch file and reinstall the protection.
______________________________

Please post:
  1. c:\rapport.txt
  2. Ewido log
  3. A new HijackThis log
Your may need several replies to post the requested logs, otherwise they might get cut off.

after this popped up some 5 times in a row, there was a promp.....

ACCESS IS DENIED the system cannot find the file specified. and would not let the registry cleaning continue

THEN when i rebooted my computer to notify you of this, i got another prompted message as follows....

Hi roc slaughter,

* Double click on the attached file and save it to your desktop as fix.reg and save the Type to "All files". You'll see an ice cube icon.

Next double click on fix.reg and allow when prompted to merge with the registry.

* Open the SmitfraudFix folder again and double-click smitfraudfix.cmd
Select option #1 - Search by typing 1 and press Enter
This program will scan large amounts of files on your computer for known patterns so please be patient while it works. When it is done, the results of the scan will be displayed and it will create a log named rapport.txt in the root of your drive, eg: Local Disk C: or partition where your operating system is installed. Please post that log along with all others requested in your next reply.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run any other options until you are asked to do so!

Hi roc slaughter, stonangel has computer problems so I will help you for now.

I need some more information please;

go to Start > Run and type:

cmd.exe

and ok. Copy and paste the below string after the prompt > and hit Enter.

Code:
dir /s /a "c:\regedit*.*" > c:\find.txt & start notepad c:\find.txt
Your drive will be scanned and when finished, Notepad will pop up with some information. Copy and paste it in this thread.

I would also like to see a file. Make sure that you can view hidden files and folders, uncheck "Hide Extensions for Known File Types" and "Hide Protected Operating System Files". Now run a search for sivudro.dll. When you find it, copy it to a new folder, zip it up (this is important) and email it to me (include a link to this thread) and title your email "Requested Files". My address is anniefriday@xtra.co.nz. I will post back when I have checked it out.

Finally, I would like to see another type of log. Go here and download Silent Runners.vbs (use IE to download it) to a new folder on your drive and run it. It generates a log too. It takes a minute or two and it will notify you with a popup when your log is ready (it will be in the new folder you created). Please post the information back in this thread. If your AV queries the script, allow it to run. It's not malicious.

Hi roc slaughter. Make sure that you can view hidden files and folders, open Windows Explorer and navigate to C:\WINDOWS\System32. Open the System32 folder and delete regedit.com.

When you have done this, have a look in Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel and see if there is an entry for New.net or NewDotNet. If there is, uninstall this program and reboot. If there is no entry, download and run the New.net uninstaller from here. Reboot afterwards.

It doesnt look as though you have installed Ewido yet. Firstly uninstall Webroot's SpySweeper (unless you intend to purchase it), reboot and download the trial version of Ewido Security Suite from here.

When installing, under "Additional Options" uncheck "Install Background Guard" and "Install scan via context menu".

Launch Ewido (there should be an icon on your desktop doubleclick it). The program will now go to the main screen. You will need to update ewido to the latest definition files.

On the left hand side of the main screen click update and then click on Start Update. The update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed. If you have problems with the updater, you can use this link to manually update ewido.
ewido manual updates http://www.ewido.net/en/download/updates/. Do not run a scan yet.

When you have done this, boot into Safe Mode (see here),

Run Ewido now. Click on Scanner and click Complete System Scan and the scan will begin. During the scan it will prompt you to clean files, click OK. When it asks if you want to clean the first file, put a check in the lower left corner of the box that says "Perform action on all infections" then choose clean and click OK. When the scan is finished, click the Save report button at the bottom of the screen. Save the report to your desktop and close Ewido.

Reboot and post a new Hijack This log, a new Silent Runners log and your Ewido report.
