CAN I run win98SE on a 64bit machine

I just bought a new computer
OS Version: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium, Service Pack 1, 64 bit
Processor: AMD E-450 APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics, AMD64 Family 20 Model 2 Stepping 0
Processor Count: 2
RAM: 3686 Mb
Graphics Card: AMD Radeon HD 6320 Graphics, 384 Mb
Hard Drives: C: Total - 465640 MB, Free - 252855 MB; D: Total - 11196 MB, Free - 1375 MB; L: Total - 152580 MB, Free - 112828 MB;
Motherboard: PEGATRON CORPORATION, 2AD1
Antivirus: avast! Antivirus, Updated and Enabled

because my old one died
I have old backups using msbackup (.bkf) If I partion C drive can I run win98SE on a 64bit machine to restore old files?

The operating system is 64 bit not the hard drive.

Windows 98SE will not support a NTFS partition, therefore you would have to partition the drive (partition you will be putting Windows 98 on) in FAT32.

Your only problem may be drivers for your motherboard/video Windows 98 drivers may not be available.

Plus installing Windows 98SE now with Windows 7 already installed will take special care. You always install the older Operating System first. Windows 98 uses a boot.ini file while Windows 7 uses a boot manager. Because earlier versions of Windows don't recognize the startup files used in more recent versions of Windows and can overwrite them.

can I run win98SE on a 64 bit machine

I think for me the answer is I am SOL (*OUT OF LUCK) May be I can find a old used clunker running 98Se and run it on that
