Thanks John but could you tell me what model Logitech Webcam you suggest, what features to look for, best one for the price and anything else you think I should know before buying one.

Everyone to his own choice, I use Microsoft Life Cam 3.0..... It plugs into a usb port and
the software was included in the package. I bought it from walmart and was reasonable priced..
don't know if they still have them or not.. It works flawlessly, for Skype and
MS live messenger.. Hope this helps.

Thanks Bennie. I will look for this one but I never, never shop at Walmart. I usually go to Office Depot, Office Max or my favorite Amazon.

Everyone is having his/her choice. Some go for good company, high price and good quality.I would suggest you to visit ebay.com .Its having wide range of web-cams of Quantum,Iball,Intex.I recommend you to buy Microsoft Life cam 3.0.,since its auto installable. As you plug in the USB the web-cam software will get installed and it works well in Skype,Yahoo Messenger..

I personally prefer logitech also. which model depends upon your usage. Make sure it has a speaker if you are wanting to use it with skype or other online similar services. If you are going to move it around quite a bit, consider getting the wireless one though it is a bit pricy.

If it is just going to sit there, the quickcam series is pretty good. I have had several over the years.

If you run linux, you may need to check your distros website to see which ones are compatible. and one more thing, never get the cheapest ones - no matter the brand.
