My Printer "Not Responding" to My Laptop

Merf...I'm anxious to report to you that it appears all's in order NOW, finally!
I've printed a number of items, successfully, so far, and it looks good for the
moment. I'm a very PATIENT guy, as you, obviously, are. Drives my wife up
the walls, but what's the alternative? For your info, the Port shown for the
printer is: "a check mark...USB...Virtual printer port...for Canon MX390 series
printer". And, as you would expect, in the Device Manager folder, the
printer is listed under USB Controllers. I'd like to be able to say, "now I
understand where the problem lay"...but, I can't. Truly, I thank you
immensely, Murf. I can't imagine what kind of price I could have paid someone
to resolve the issue, Murf. I plan, at least, to make a donation
to the "help community". Again, thanks & best wishes!

I'm glad you got it sorted out. I have 2 multi-purpose Wireless/USB canon Printers and have had problems with them myself. At least you learned something and found out these fangled computers are not as smart as we think.

Basically the problem was the port, and starting from scratch helped resolve it. Come by anytime this is a great forum with some great folks here.
