Western Digital 120 G, Portable Hard Drive
4/15/2007
Yesterday I purchased the WD 120 Gig portable hard drive. Although it says, it is a "plug and play" it was not quite that easy. The bigger problem is that the drive keeps disappearing and: 1. the “auto play” continues to run 2. an “error” message appears reading: Cannot copy “…”: Cannot find the specified file. Make sure you specify the correct path and file name. 3. Mixed content screen keeps appearing which reads: This disk or device contains more than one type of content. What do you want Windows to do? I run XP on a Dell Latitude D600. I also have an: 1. external hard drive, 80 G, which is my backup 2. portable hard drive, 8 G, which I have learned cannot be run at the same time as the new 120 G, WD drive 3. and the drive above causing the problem Please help…. Welcome
Have you tested the drive in a different computer? If you have and are getting the same problems then have the drive replaced. |
