Installing Programs

Hi, I am new to computing. I would like to know when I go to install a new or old program and a box jumps up and says to shut down all programs running in background, how do I do this? Thanks. daveJ

Hi daveJ - welcome to CTH. The easiest way to do this in Win98 is to hit Ctrl+Alt+Del and end task all programs with the exception of Explorer and Systray. Or you can use a program like End-It-All

*Edit* Here is a download link for End-It-All that does not require registration.
