Smile update to NEt Framework 3.5 ,issues with avast.

I am getting a request to do an update to NEt Framework 3.5 service pack 1 the the .Net Framework assistant 1.0 x 86 causing issues with avast. I get a popup from free avast telling me this is a bad add on and I remove it and I get the download again. It won't stop.

Thanks!

now I am getting a warning telling me that the add on NEt Framework 3.5 service pack 1 the the .Net Framework assistant 1.0 x 86 is not good with avast users and says I should remove it but if I do it will just keep popping back up asking me to add it.

Do I need it and what do I do?

Thanks
