upgraded from windows 8 to 8.1 now games run slow
can someone please help me with this problem...ever since I did the update when I go to play games like batman or Assassins creed..the fight scenes run in slow motion as before they would play out fine not sure if what coulda cause this as nothing else has changed?

it could still be indexing your files. did you make sure you have the win8.1 video drivers installed.

uhm...just let the updates take care of that should I be more specific with it?
thanks man for trying to help me I m not too good with computers and this is really been giving me a head ache ...I tried to see if I could just do system restore back to windows 8 but I don't think there was option to go back that far...I wish I just left it |

i have a nvdia graphics card i tried to follow youtube video how to tweak the system for peak performance of games it helped a little bit but not like how it was super smooth and fast on windows 8...assassin creed a bit better but batman is super slow motion on fight scens only

Hello...I went to device manager it says both windows has determined they are up to date:

any other suggestions maybe...100 percent my computer can handle it cause it was running smooth as smooth can be...I hate windows wish I bought mac that never gave me any troubles.

I lowered the resolution and took off v-sync made batman bit faster also but still not smooth still can see slow motion.

Sounds like it may be using the on-board (Intel) graphics rather than your nVidia card.
Did you re-install the games after upgrading the O/S? Go to the nVidia website and get their latest driver - do not rely on Windows Device manager. |

hi smurfy...I have followed your instructions and downloaded the correct driver off the NVidia website...
Now should I unstill the current driver then continue to install the downloaded one or just go ahead install? |

I don't wanna re-install the game cause ive made far progess in them almost finished took me close to three months and don't want to do it all over
