Monitor Problems

I have an HP w2558hc 25" monitor connected to my computer running Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit, but all of a sudden (starting today) I can't get the monitor to display a screen resolution greater than 1600 x 1200. For about 2 years I have had the problem of having to change the screen resolution from 1600 x 1200 to 1920 x 1200 whenever I turn on or restart the computer, but now I can't even change the resolution to anything above 1600 x 1200. I would appreciate any suggestions or assistance. Thanks very much.

Hi Laserman. See if any of the suggestions here help. Different monitor but the principle is the same.
