I went into 'Sound Preferences" and found the following:-

Output Volume = 100%
Sound Effects = Default from theme (With a few others to choose from)
Hardware = Blank (no devices are showing there to configure)
Input = Blank (no devices showing are there to configure)
Output = Dummy Output Stereo
Applications = No application is currently playing or recording audio
