Welcome to CTH

You don't need to rename each file by changing the extension to be able to open them. You just need to add the .jpg extension in the file associations.

There are several ways to do this. Try this:-
In Windows Explorer, Right click a file with the .jpg extension
Select 'Open With'
In the Open With Box, Scroll to the application that you open your .jpeg files
Select that Application
Put a checkmark in the 'Always use this program to open this file' box
Click OK

And everything should work from here on.

Test it by double clicking a few .jpg files
