Proxy Error with No Proxy Server Set

I turned off the proxy settings on my Chrome browser, so I could get on here. The concern I have is that I never turned them on in the first place. I have HotSpot Shield, but I rarely use it (the load speeds are annoyingly slow). I haven't used it in quite some time, at least a week, and this unusual error just started a few days ago.

I have MalwareBytes, and I've run scans since the weirdness started. It caught a bunch of stuff the first time and nothing the last couple days. I don't know if it helps or not, but a month or so ago, a log-in screen started popping up that had never been there before. There's only one user account on my laptop, and I didn't turn that on either. It also installed some updates before the proxy error appeared and again after the first MalwareBytes scan.

Whoo, sorry that was so long-winded, and I'm probably just being paranoid. But I just want to be sure I haven't contracted something serious.

Thanks guys!
