That a system restore can undo a whole heap of evil. If you have good restore point try that first.

The Spybot log didnt show any recent issues...

The Spybot log didnt show any recent issues however DDS does show some junk installed. Not enough to cause your problems though.

Looking at the issues in Event Viewer, I suspect AVG and/or Spybot...
