Thanks for the advice! i think i'll stick to Gigabyte to as that was what i originally ordered, and they sent me a replacement instead Asus, so they can take it back, and send me what i originally...

Thanks so much for your help, i'm afraid your right it has to be a dead motherboard, very frustrating you buy a brand new board and they give you a faulty one! I'll send it back and start again...
