When you use RCA connections and S-Video your TV...

When you use RCA connections and S-Video your TV must be in "Video Mode."
Look for a "Video" button on the remote, or a "VCR" button to put the TV in Video Mode.
Ch. 3, 4, 9, etc. aren't Video...

And check the jumper pins on the old HDD, it could have been used as a slave drive.
Make sure it is set to Master or Cable Select...and your bios sees it.

I'd check the Hard Drive first. Sometimes just removing and reattaching the IDE Cable to the HDD and MB will get it going again. I've had that happen a few times and usually end up replacing the HDD...
