In my opinion, I think the new HD is using too...

In my opinion, I think the new HD is using too much power from your power supply and thus your screen doesnt have enough power to light up.

I would be impressed...if it turned out looking nice maybe with cathode LEDs around the monitor and working fine, I would want one for myself...it would save alot of space :)

Having norton and AVG at the same time can really slow down your system, usually 1 antivirus is sufficient, if you want extra protection then you can run online scans as suggested by Rich.
