yeah, be careful with that deltree. I was fooling with batch files once and deltreed the windows folder. I spent the rest of that afternoon reloading windows.

If the BIOS doesn't recognize the hdd after checking all cabling you can try this as a last resort. Remember to try everything else 1st.
Pull the hdd out and whack it on a hard surface. Put it back...

Set the burner to master and plug it in to the 2nd IDE slot on the mobo. Set the DVD to slave on the same IDE ribbon....

I usually remove the USB and reboot without it.
Then remove the sound card and reboot.
Windows will assign the sound card 5 (if USB was assigned 5 before)...

128Mb PC100 in the 2nd slot etc.

I would suggest not mixing speeds but it will work. It will only run at the slowest speed...
