Thank you. I hope the thread resurrection isn't too much of a bother, I wanted to go ahead and let that guy know about FreeDOS if he was still needing help, and I didn't see any way of messaging...

Hey there apsco,

If you want a stable work environment that's easier to install, I'd recommend FreeDOS. It comes with a basic program manager GUI as well, and has full support for 16-bit DOS...
