Dial up connection and takes ages to open a web site and sometines it comes up as unavailable and I need to refresh to open page. Dial up sais it is connected at 56kbps.
Tweaks to try? any other...

C: drive shows a windows folder and a windows.0 folder - both are the same - more or less - I think it would be best for the stand alone PC to onlly have 1 o/s installed - what then is the best way...

Typically XP needs 512 Mb Ram to be optimal - more the better, other OS like 98 need 256 Ram. So I guarantee by putting a extra ram system will be a whole lot better. But see if you can get 2nd hand...
