you probably should've just left the jumper on...
you probably should've just left the jumper on the drive that was already in the pc set to whatever it was, which should have been either "master" or "cable select" and depending on what it was set...

have you tried setting the jumper for your main boot drive (10 GB) to "Master" and then setting the secondary drive (80 GB) to slave? Or both to "Cable Select". If you don't know what a "jumper" is...
