Read somewhere that it has to do with the EDID not being recognized. When I check the display settings it shows my monitor as a crt. This is a 22" Acer widescreen. Not sure how to get it to read it...

It's built by me. I do have secure boot turned off in the bios. Took me forever to figure that one out. Used LinuxLive to create bootable usb drive, but it doesn't seem to see it.
