I think you need to configure it to use port 587 for outgoing mail rather than 25 which AOL block for spam defeating reasons.

Have you set up wml's mime type in httpd.conf or .htaccess to make sure Apache serves these files as text/vnd.wap.wml?

I'm led to believe that the recent update to AOL for broadband users in the UK wasn't exactly brilliant and has cased some problems. Not sure what the fix is though.
