I got a popup that says windows firewall has detected that your windows 8.1 is damaged and irrelevant. as a your system files are automatically deleted. please follow instructions to fix problem immediately that way you ensure that your system is protected.

I just x out not sure what to do .I can't read half of what is behind that message.I do see a button to update.

Is this a hoax, what exactly do I do please. Thank you!

"Windows Firewall Warning Alert" is a fake error message similar to Error 268D3-XC00037, Microsoft System Security Alert, Your Device Is Under Threat, and many others. This error is displayed by a malicious website. Research shows that, in most cases, users visit this site inadvertently - they are redirected by potentially unwanted programs (PUPs) that infiltrate systems without permission. In addition to causing redirects, PUPs deliver intrusive advertisements, gather sensitive information, and sometimes misuse system resources to run unwanted processes.
