Stop: 0x0000C1F5

Windows Vista Home Premium:
I said yes to a Windows update and now my computer will not boot, not into safe mode either. It won't boot from the rescue cd's or from the installation disc microsoft recently sent me to fix this problem. Every time and every way I have tried, all I get is a stop: 0x0000C1F5 blue screen. I am under the impression from searching online that others are having this problem after a service pack update also. Has anyone found a fix for this?

Are you sure that your computer is booting from the CDs. You may have to go into your BIOS setting and change the boot order.

Yes, it is set to boot from CD. I get a prompt to hit enter to boot from cd or dvd.

Did Microsoft send you this hotfix? If so and you are still having problems, you can lodge a free Windows Update support incident request here TamSoc.
