Running Processes

Hi,
I recently bought a new PC game and noticed it ran very, very slowly. However if i press Ctrl-Alt-Delete to open task manager, and end some running processes, it runs at a normal speed.

Is there any way I can stop these processes running from startup without ending them every time I log on?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

click start, run, type in msconfig, his enter, in the generals tab, select selective start up. Then click on the start up tab, disable all, go back through the list and check mark any of the virus protection prgrams you use, once you've done that, click applly, then okay, restart computer, once computer finishes restart, a message will pop up, check mark it and hit okay and you good to go.

Welcome :)

Be aware that if you are connected to the net then run the risk of catching a virus if you disable your AV.
