Installing Fonts on Windows XP

Hi, just thought i'd let people know how to do this, as newbies to websites and graphic designs may not know, i certainly didn't...

First of all, you need a font file. My personal favourite font site is www.dafont.com.

Once you find your font, SAVE the file.
Now click on Start > Settings > Control Panel.
Once this is up, click on the Font's Folder.

I find the easiest way is to copy (Right Click > Copy, or Ctrl+C) your font file(s), and paste them into this folder. This is a good technique used to install more then one font at a time.

The other way, is to click File > Install New Font on the Fonts folder. Find your font file, click ok, and you have a new font installed on your system.

If you can't find your font on your font list in the program you want (such as Photoshop CS2) try restarting all open programs which use fonts (like Photoshop, Word, Dreamweaver, etc.)

Hope this helped you learn something new...

Thanks.

There's lots more info for people in the Tutorials (see the link at the top of the page). It often gets overlooked when people join the forums.
